hi everyone in this video I'm going to teach you how to make this amigurumi Snorlax there are two versions this version which is the laying down Snorlax sleeping Snorlax and this version which is the sitting up Snorlax we awake ish Snorlax so let's get started alright so let's go over our materials the first thing you're going to need is yarn in several different colors you're going to need blue yarn for our main body color and cream-colored yarn for the other color like his face in this belly you'll probably need more yarn
than this but I film this part of the tutorial actually after I'm all done so this is me after I've used I I didn't start with a full roll like this I started with like a ball about that size but yeah cream-colored yarn and then you're also going to need brown yarn black yarn and white yarn these are all the brand Caron simply soft Caron simply soft doesn't come in balls like this so if you typically use Caron simply soft and you're like I don't know where to find the balls of yarn they don't come
in bulbs whenever I use a lot I just wrap it into a ball so you don't have to worry about finding the exact kind but these are all Caron simply soft medium number four worsted weight yarns and to go with this you are also going to need a size G four millimeter crochet hook if you can't find the brand Caron simply soft you can use whatever hook your yarn recommends or a hook that's slightly smaller than what your yarn recommends which is what I'm using then you're going to need toy stuffing or yarn scraps you're going to need more than
this but this is just to show you just kind of what you need and then you are going to need a tapestry needle that is big enough to thread your yarn so that we can sew everything together and that is everything you'll need to make Snorlax all right everybody CIFOR we begin if you are a beginner I highly recommend going and checking out my basic stitches from a guru me video it will clarify a lot of the stitches and we're going to go over those in detail in that video in this video I'm not really going to go over a lot of the stitches and the techniques for making
amigurumi because I've done it in that video so if you are new to UM you go to Lee please go check out that video and it will clear up a lot of questions that you may have for this video the link is down in the description so starting with our blue yarn we are going to make a magic ring and it's kind of funny because this is the one technique I don't go over in my basic stitches video because at the time I made it I wasn't using a magic ring so I'll go over that in detail right now the way I do it is I take the yarn and wrap it around my hand
like this just so that they're crossing and then I stick my hook through and I pull the tail that's attached to my fall of yarn through so here's the other tail and then I've just pulled it through like that so that it kind of just looks like this you just pretty simply just like pull it through like that then we're going to yarn over and pull through that loop that we just pulled up so that we've chained one so it kind of secures it like that and that's the magic ring that's pretty much it I'm not
sure if I'm good at explaining this I've never really felt like secure in my explanation of a magic ring so if you're still confused there are lots of tutorials out there for how to make a magic ring this is like the one thing that I'm like I don't know if is my explanation for this is satisfactory alright but inner magic ring now we are going to single crochet six so we're going to yarn over and single crochet one two three four five and six so now we have six you can count them one two three four five six and take your magic ring tail and
pull it tight to close it alright so now we have six stitches are six single crochets now we're going to do an increase round and we're going to increase from six stitches up to twelve stitches by increasing in every stitch so find your first stitch and stick your hook through and single crochet one then go back into that same stitch and single crochet again for two and that's our increase in the next stitch is three and in that same stitch increase for four in the next stitch is five and in the same stitch increase for six in the next stitch is seven and
in the same stitch increase for eight and the next stitch is nine and in the same stitch increase for ten and in this last stitch is 11 and in that same stitch increase for twelve so now you should have 12 stitches and you can count them one two three four five six seven eight nine 10 11 and 12 so we have 12 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 12 to 18 by increasing on every multiple of three so in this first stitch we single crochet one in the next stitch we single crochet for two and in the same stitch we increase for three in the next
stitches for five and in the same stitch we increase four six seven eight and in the same stitch we increase 4 9 10 11 and in the same stitch we increase for 12 13 14 and in the same stitch we increase for 15 16 17 and in the same stitch we increase for 18 so now we have 18 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 18 stitches up to 24 stitches by increasing on every multiple of four so in this first stitch we single crochet 1 2 3 and in the same stitch we increase 4 4 5 6 7 and in the same stitch we increase 4 8 9 10 11 and in the same stitch we increase for 12 13
14 15 and in the same stitch we increase 4 16 17 18 19 and in the same stitch we increase 4 20 21 22 23 and in the same stitch we increase for 24 so now we have 24 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 24 stitches up to 30 stitches by increasing on every multiple of 5 and you'll notice that with every increase we're increasing by 6 stitches so we did 12 to 18 we're sorry we did 6 to 12 12 to 18 18 to 24 and now we're doing 24 to 30 so in this first stitch we single crochet 1 2 3 4 and in the same stitch we increase 4 5 6 7 8 9 and in
the same stitch we increase 4 10 11 12 13 14 and in the same stitch we increase 4 15 16 17 18 19 and in the same stitch we increase 4 20 21 22 23 24 and in the same stitch we increase in the same stitch we increase 4 25 26 27 28 29 and in the same stitch we increase 4 30 so now we have 30 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 30 stitches up to 36 stitches by increasing on every multiple of 6 so in this first stitch we single crochet 1 2 3 4 5 and in the same stitch we increase 4 6 7 8 nine ten eleven and in the same stitch we increase for 12 13 14 15 16 17 and in
the same stitch we increase for 18 19 20 21 22 23 and in the same stitch we increase for 24 25 26 27 28 29 and in the same stitch we increase for 30 31 32 33 34 35 and in the same stitch we increase for 36 so now we have 36 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 36 stitches up to 42 stitches by increasing on every multiple of seven so in this first stitch we single crochet one two three four five six and in the same stitch we increase four seven eight nine 10 11 12 13 and in the same stitch we increase four 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 and in the same stitch we
increase for 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 and in the same stitch we increase for 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 and in the same stitch we increase for 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 and in the same stitch we increase for 42 so now we have 42 stitches in this next round we're going to increase from 42 stitches up to 48 stitches by increasing on every multiple of eight so in this first stitch with single crochet 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and in the same stitch we increase 4 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 and in the same stitch we increase 4 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 and in the same stitch we increased for 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31
and in the same stitch we increase for 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 and in the same stitch we increase for 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 47 and in the same stitch we increase for 48 so now we have 48 stitches now we're going to do one last increased round and we're going to increase from 48 stitches up to 54 stitches by increasing on every multiple of 9 so in this first stitch we single crochet 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 and in the same stitch we increase 4 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 and in the same stitch we increase for 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 and in the same stitch we increase for
27 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 35 and in the same stitch we increase for 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 and in the same stitch we increase for 45 46 47 48 49 50 and we're not done yet but what we need to do is start incorporating our cream-colored yarn because we're about to change colors at the end of this round so the way we do that is we just take the tail where we take our yarn with the tail facing the opposite direction that we're crocheting and we just lay that in so that our yarn ball is going in the direction that we're crocheting so that we can begin to
crochet with it later so you just do that now we're at 50 next is 51 52:53 and in the same stitch we increase for 54 but we're going to change yarn colors here so what we're going to do is we're going to pull through with our blue yarn like we normally would but we are going to yarn over and pull through again with our cream colored yarn and we've just changed colors my arm fell on the ground okay so now we are going to single crochet four in cream and one thing that I want to make sure that you all do is make sure the two crochet this
blue tail into your stitches so that after four stitches we can change back to blue and it's not too difficult so make sure that you work this tail in so the way you do that is when you go through to single crochet one you pull through like this and you have your tail between your piece and your yarn so that it kind of gets stuck to there and that's how you make sure that it stays usable so we single crochet one two three and then for stitch number four we're going to pull through with our cream yarn and then yarn over and pull through with our blue yarn to change
back to blue and my hook came out to change back to blue alright so we've just changed back to blue now we're going to single crochet 6 in blue and once again I want you to make sure that you're working this cream-colored yarn into your pieces so that you can change back to it easily so we're going to single crochet 6 in craters are in blue one two three for five and then for stitch number six we are going to chain you back to cream and we're going to single crochet another four in cream one two three and then for stitch number four we are going
to change back to blue so now we're going to single crochet 40 in blue so we're pretty much going to single crochet all the way around until we get back to our cream colored yarn so we're going to single crochet 43 single crochet one two three and at this point I like to cut my cream colored yarn because we can't we can't work it in all the way around like this because if we were to work it in it would make it so that our piece is not stretchy and we want it to be able to stretch so for this longer duration we need to make
sure that we cut this yarn off and I always like to cut my yarn to break my yarn at stitch number three so I always single crochet three and then break my yarn that way I always know where I am and all of my stitches kind of line up when I change colors they are all in a line so that looks nicer on the inside but yeah that's how I do it so we just single crochet three and we're going to single crochet for 37 more so for a total of 40 stitches four five 37 so we're not done yet we're only at stitch 37 but at this point again three
stitches before I need to change I like to incorporate my yarn again so it's always I incorporate my arm three stitches before I need to change and I cut my yarn three stitches after I change if I'm going to be crocheting for a long time in one color alright so at 37 38 39 and then for stitch 40 we are going to change back to cream now we're going to single crochet five in cream and for this one we can incorporate our blue yarn into the stitches because it'll still be stretchy for that short of a duration so we're going to single
crochet 5 in cream one two three four and then first stitch number five we're going to change back to blue and now we're going to single crochet five in blue one two three four and then for stitch number five we're going to change back to cream now we're going to single crochet another five and cream one two three four and then for stitch number five we're going to change back to blue and now we're going to single crochet 39 in blue so we single crochet one two three and I'm going to cut my cream colored yarn for 536 so now I'm going to
incorporate my cream yarn again because I'm three stitches away from changing so I was at Stitch 36 37 38 and for stitch 39 I'm going to change back to cream and now I'm going to single crochet 6 in cream so I single crochet one two three four five and for stitch number six I'm going to change back to blue so I'm going to change back to blue and now I'm going to single crochet four in blue one two three and four stitch number four I'm going to change back to cream let's see change back to cream and now I'm
going to single crochet another six in cream one two three four five and four stitch number six I'm going to change back to blue and now I'm going to single crochet 38 in blue one two three and I want to cut my cream color yarn for 534 35 and now three stitches away from changing yarn so I'm going to incorporate my cream colored yarn again 36 37 and for 38 I'm going to change back to cream now I'm going to single crochet 7 in cream one two three four five six and for stitch number seven I'm going to change back to
blue now I'm going to single crochet 3 in blue one two and four stitch number three I'm going to change back to cream and now I'm going to crochet another 7 in cream one two three four five six and four stitch number seven I'm going to change back to blue now I'm going to single crochet 37 in blue one two three three and I'm going to cut my yarn four five 33 34 and now I'm going to incorporate my cream yarn again 35 36 and 437 I'm going to change back to cream alright so now we're actually
going to think we're going to crochet it continuously and cream all the way across we're not going to change back to blue in this middle part so we're going to single crochet and cream for 18 stitches so we single crochet one two three and now we're going to cut our blue yarn and also I promise you said this earlier when you're cutting your yarn make sure that you're not cutting it too short you know maybe like two inches or four centimeters is a good length because if you cut it too short it's all going to come out so make sure
that you leave a little bit of a tail alright so we just did single crochet three next is four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve thirteen fourteen fifteen and now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn again now it's going to look like your two stitches away from changing but you're actually three because for this time we're going to single crochet one extra stitch over to help it widen out and you may have noticed that that's what was going on before anyway so we incorporate our blue yarn and keep going for 1617 and for 18
we change back to blue now we're going to single crochet 36 in blue one two three we're going to cut our yarn our cream colored yarn for 5:33 and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn again and continue for 34 35 now forced inch 36 we're going to change back to cream now this next round is going to be exactly like the previous round we're going to single crochet 18 and in cream and then 36 and blue so let's single crochet 18 in cream one two three and cut our blue yarn four five 14 15 and incorporate our blue yarn 16 17
and for stitch number 18 we change back to blue and now we single crochet 36 in blue and from now on I'm not going to show you me cutting the yarn or anything like that because I think you get the idea of when to incorporate the yarn and when to change yarn colors so I'm not going to show you me cutting the yarn anymore I'm just going to cut that portion out and you guys can cut that yarn on your own and I'll show you when I incorporate it again so that you don't incorporate yarn when you don't need to but I'm not going to show you me cutting
the yarn anymore just because that seems like it's huh so now single crochet in blue for 36 1 2 33 and now we incorporate our cream colored yarn 34 35 and for 36 we change back to cream now we are going to single crochet 19 in cream 1 2 3 16 now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn again 17 18 and 19 for 19 we change back to blue and now we're going to single crochet 35 in blue 1 2 3 32 and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn again 33 34 and for 35 we change back to cream now we're going to single crochet 19 in
cream 1 2 3 sixteen and now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn 17 18 and 19 for 19 we change back to blue now we're going to single crochet 35 in blue one two three thirty-two and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn again 33 34 and for 35 we're going to change back to cream now we're going to single crochet 20 in cream one two three seventeen now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn again eighteen nineteen and for 20 we change back to blue now we're going to single crochet 34 in blue
one two three thirty-one and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn again 32 33 and for 34 we're going to change back to cream so now we're going to single crochet 20 in cream one two three 16:17 now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn again 1819 and 420 we change back to blue and now we're going to single crochet 34 in blue one two three thirty-one and now we incorporate our cream yarn again 32 33 and for 34 we change back to cream now we are going to single crochet 21 in cream one two three 18 and now we're going to incorporate
our blue yarn again 1920 and for 21 we change back to blue now we're going to single crochet 33 in blue one two three 29 30 and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn again 31 32 and for 33 we change back to cream all right so now we're going to do a decrease round and for this decrease round this is actually the second time I'm doing this decrease round because the first time my hands were not centered so my yarn and everything is already cut so there's that and before what we were doing is we were counting as like the blue portion and the cream
portion for example 40 blue and 16 cream are sorry and 14 cream but now we are going to count continuously to help us with our decreases so make sure you pay very close attention to when you need to change yarn colors so now we're going to do a decrease round and we're going to decrease from a4 or sorry 54 stitches down to 48 stitches by decreasing on every multiple of 9 so in this first stitch we single crochet 1 2 3 and here is where you would cut your yarn but but my yarns already cut because I already did this one so cut your yarn here so
that's 3 4 5 6 7 and then 8 and 9 are going to be decreased together and the way we do a decrease is we stick our hook through the front loop of stitch number 8 and through the front loop of stitch number 9 pull through both front loops and single crochet one and two stitches have just become one stitch again if this is a unfamiliar way to decrease for you you can always check out my basic stitches for amigurumi video and we go over the decrease there so that was 8 and 9 next is 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 and then 17 and 18 are decreased together and right now is a
good time to incorporate our blue yarn because we're going to change soon so this is 1920 and then for 21 we change back to blue 22 23 24 and I'm going to drop my cream yarn which I've already cut but you can cut yours so it's 24 25 okay this is 25 and then 26 and 27 are decreased together 28 29 30 31 32 33 34 and then 35 and 36 are decreased together 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 and then 44 and 45 are decreased together 46 47 48 49 50 and now we're going to incorporate our cream yarn 51 52 and then 53 and 54 are decreased together and our round is 54 stitches
but we're not going to change back to cream yet so for the first stitch in our next round we're actually going to do one of blue so this is one and at the same time we change back to cream and this is going to help his uh his face on this side kind of travel inwards because it's already kind of on its own going to travel inwards on the other side so we need to kind of force it on this side so that was one for this next round and in this next round we're going to decrease from 48 stitches down to 42 stitches by decreasing on every multiple of eight so
this first blue stitch that was one this is two three four and I'm going to cut my blue yarn five six and then seven and eight or decrease together 9 10 11 12 13 14 and then 15 and 16 are decreased together and we're going to start incorporating our blue yarn this is 17 18 and then for 19 we change back to blue carry on with 20 21 22 and then we break our yarn so that was 22 and then 23 and 24 are decreased together so that was 23 and 24 next is 25 26 27 28 29 30 and 31 and 32 are decreased together 33 34 35 36 37 38 and then 39 and 40 are decrease together
41 42 43 44 45 46 and we incorporate our cream yarn and then 47 and 48 are decreased together and we've come to the end of our round alright so now we're going to do another decrease round and we're going to decrease from 42 stitches down to 36 stitches by decreasing on every let's see every multiple of seven so we need to first single crochet two in blue so we single crochet one and for two change back to cream so that's two three four five I'm going to cut our yarn cheese so it's five three four and five
and then six and seven are decreased together eight nine ten eleven twelve and then 13 and 14 are decreased together and now we're going to incorporate our blue yarn again 15 16 and 417 we change back to blue 18 and 19 then 20 and 21 are decreased together so 20 and 21 and now we're going to break our crane yarn so that was 21 22 23 24 25 26 and then 27 and 28 are decreased together 29 30 31 32 33 10 and 34 and 35 are decreased together 36 37 38 39 40 and then 41 and 42 are decreased together so that's the end of our round and now we're going to start
incorporating our cream colored yarn and you'll notice that these two sections are starting to kind of curve inwards that's exactly what we want so now we're going to do another decrease round and we're going to decrease from 42 stitches down to or sorry 36 stitches down to 30 stitches by decreasing on every multiple of 6 so we single crochet one two and then for three we change back to cream and then four and then stitches five and six are decreased together and now we're going to break our blue yarn seven eight nine 10 and
then 11 and 12 are decreased together now we incorporate our blue yarn 13 14 and 4 15 we change back to blues with 15 16 and then 17 and 18 are decreased together and right our cream yarn 19 20 21 22 and 23 and 24 are decreased together 25 26 27 28 and then 29 and 30 are decreased together 31 32 33 34 and then 35 and 36 are decreased together so we should have 30 stitches but I'm going to count just to make sure 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 so I have 30 stitches
